Touch A Truck and Save a Life:
Don’t miss San Diego’s original Touch A Truck where little drivers are given the green light to sit behind the wheel and honk the horn to their little hearts’ desire in every type of vehicle imaginable. And best of all, the funds raised benefit the Beat Nb Foundation in their mission of curing cancer for kids.
In addition to sitting in the driver’s seat of a construction rig or fire truck, there is entertainment galore for 2017:
- Mercy Air Ambulance lands at 11:45am and opens the helicopter for exploration
- Hullabaloo takes the stage at 1:30 with some organic kid folk music
- Scavenger Hunt with Star Wars prizes
- A legion of Star Wars characters will provide galactic security… and pose for photos with your little Luke or Leia
- Enter the raffle to win a Kid-size Tesla Model S valued at over $750
- Sit in a brand new Lamborghini Aventador and 2017 “Galaxy” Corvette Stingray
- Meet Smokey Bear and check out his Forest Service FIre Engine
- And the most anticipated exhibit: we’ll have the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile!
This is a must see-touch-explore event for your little ones - and you! #TouchATruckSD
This year, we are using the parking lot at Canyon Crest Academy for parking, and the adjacent parking lot at Pacific Trails Middle School for the vehicle displays and activities, food and entertainment. In addition, the athletic track at CCA be used to display additional vehicles and be where the Mercy Air Ambulance is available to explore once it has landed and the area is safe and secure. A printed Event Guide containing the map below will be available at the Touch A Truck entrance.

Vehicles That Fly High and Low
We'll have vehicles that fly at all altitudes. Coming again is the Mercy Air CHET (Children's Hospital Emergency Team) that will be landing and taking off on the CCA soccer field during the event, and in-between also open for full exploration!
You've been, Cobrastruck...
Forgive us, we can't help making bad puns about awesome cars. Since 2012, Neal has been bringing his Shelby American 50th Anniversary 289 FIA Cobra to Touch A Truck. Unique to Touch A Truck is the ability to get into some really, really nice cars. While the car's engine won't be started at Touch A Truck, kids (and some of their lucky parents) will get to sit inside this beast!
- Ultimate Lemonade Stand
- Brett's BBQ
- Dang Brother Woodfired Pizza
- Shaka Guac
- Kona Ice
- SnoCal Shaved Ice
- New York on Rye
- Perky Beans Coffee
Playing on the stage starting at 1:30pm, Hullabaloo really needs no introduction, but here's what you find if you go over to Hullabalooband.com
Over the course of ten years Hullabaloo has won twelve national awards, received rave reviews from People, Parenting, Parents, Cookie and Parent & Child Magazines and landed on three national “Top 10 Best Children’s Music” lists.
Hullabaloo plays about 300 shows a year in venues ranging from backyard parties to fancier stages like the Austin City Limits Festival, World Café Live, LEGOLAND, the Hard Rock Cafe and their own Hullabaloo Family Music Festival. At last count, they’d sold just over 30,000 CDs.
But the truth is, none of these facts and figures matter a bit to kid that just wants to sing and dance. What really matters is that Hullabaloo is a foot-stomping, wing-flapping celebration of song that honors and entertains kids and families.
San Diego Star Wars Society and 501st Legion
Roaming Touch A Truck will be our own inter-galactic security force. Make sure to say "hi" and take a picture with your favorite Star Wars and Marvel characters!
